Earning Beyond the 9–5
If your paycheck is your only income source, you are living risky!
It’s Tuesday, just another day at the office.
You log into your computer and prepare to start your work day.
Suddenly you’re interrupted.
Your boss wants to speak with you in his office.
You’re confused, but have a sinking feeling in your gut.
You enter the office…and oh no, a HR rep is there.
Now you know this isn’t good.
The next thing you know, you’re out of a job.
Shocking? Yes. Uncommon? Not really.
That was me in 2012.
I was a classic case of “all my eggs in one basket.”
When that basket fell, so did my financial stability.
I learned a valuable lesson that fateful day.
Relying solely on a paycheck for income is a risky move.
That painful situation wasn’t my downfall.
It was my wake-up call.
It led me to discover the importance of diversifying your income.
I work a better 9–5 now and enjoy it, but never again will I be financially vulnerable as I was in 2012.
